Chocolate chip molasses oatmeal cookies


Adapted by Brennan & Mattea Colberg from multiple Googled chocolate chip cookie recipes

Ingredients

1 cup white sugar
large drizzle (~1/4 cup) molasses
1 cup softened butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
2 cups oats [any kind works, we typically use instant]
1.5 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup chocolate chips

Procedure

  1. Combine sugar and wet ingredients in a bowl or stand mixer until consistent.
  2. Add dry ingredients except chocolate chips and mix.
  3. Fold in chocolate chips.
  4. Bake small to medium size cookies at 350°F for 10-12 minutes. [Cookies may still be soft coming out of the oven but will firm up as they cool.]
